A few years ago we published an article entitled Success Stories. We highlighted a few of our graduates and their successes. We have updated this a little bit and we would like to share with you the evidence that Auburn Hills Christian School is making a difference in the lives of our students and ultimately in our community and churches. We are proud to say that graduates from our school have been accepted and attended over 40 different college and universities, including University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, Kettering University and various out of state institutions. Our graduates also represent a variety of degrees and careers. These are just a small representation of the hundreds of successful graduates that Auburn Hills Christian School has produced. We will have more updates soon! It is very important to note that our graduates are not only successful in college but they are successful in their careers and in their personal lives. We are in the business of developing strong leaders that can make a difference in their churches and the world around them.
Bethany Cuellar is a 2005 graduate of Auburn Hills Christian School. Bethany is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and she is a Doctor of Psychology. Bethany currently lives in California with her husband where she works as a Psychotherapist in Private Practice as well as working for Paradise Valley Hospital.
Danny Dumas is a 1998 graduate of Auburn Hills Christian School (previously known as Greater Life Academy). Danny graduated from Oakland Community College with an associates degree before entering and graduating from the fire academy. Danny was nominated for the 2016 Oakland County Executive's Elite 40 Under 40. He served as Captain for the Pontiac Fire Department and is currently Lieutenant for the Waterford Fire Department. Danny was recently awarded Best New Instructor at the Oakland Community College's Fire Training Institute. He is the owner of HeroFit and The Hero Training Group. Danny is also actively involved in his church where he plays guitar, teaches and serves in many different areas, including helping with our college age ministry the 20Somethings. Danny lives in Lake Orion with his wife Andrea and their two children Levi and Matilda.
Stephanie Falconer graduated from Auburn Hills Christian School (previously known as Greater Life Academy) in 1990. Stephanie has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a master's degree in Healthcare Administration. She was Administrative Manager of the operating room at Royal Oak Beaumont and Director of Surgical Services for Florida Hospital. Stephanie is currently the Director of South Tower Surgical Services for Royal Oak Beaumont. Stephanie lives in Rochester with her husband Matt and they have two children, Alora and Drake.
Aaron Hanke graduated from Auburn Hills Christian in 2006, at the age of 17. At the age of 19, Aaron received his undergraduate degree from Oakland University, graduating cum laude with a major in Journalism and a minor in history. Three years later, Aaron received his law degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, graduating in the top 10 percent of his class. In March of 2011, he was featured in the Michigan Lawyers Weekly as the second youngest active attorney in Michigan, and one of about 60 in Michigan history to have graduated from law school and passed the Michigan bar exam at the age of 22. While in law school, Aaron completed an externship with Federal District Judge Gerald E. Rosen and an internship with former Michigan Supreme Court Justice Maura D. Corrigan. He was also a member of moot court and law review. Mr. Hanke's law review article, An Extreme Makeover: Why Michigan's Judicial Recusal Standards Needed Reconstruction and Why More Work Remains to be Done, 88 U. Det. Mercy L. Rev. 97 (2011), was chosen for publication. He was also awarded the Edward H. Rakow Scholarship for outstanding achievement in business Law by the Federal Bar Association for the Eastern District of Michigan. Aaron Hanke is now a research attorney with the Macomb County Circuit Court. Aaron performs legal research and drafts proposed opinions for all of the circuit court judges. Prior to working for the Macomb County Circuit Court, Aaron was a litigation associate attorney with the Carthew Law Firm, P.C., practicing in the areas of contracts and business litigation, real estate and construction transactions. He also previously served as a judicial law clerk for Circuit Court Judge Michael J. Beale in Midland, and Circuit Court Judges Scott P. Hill-Kennedy and Ronald C. Nichols in Big Rapids. Aaron was nominated in 2014 for Oakland County Executive's Elite 40 under 40.
Sarah Thomas graduated from Auburn Hills Christian School in 2012. She graduated with an associates degree in Mental Health/Social Work from Oakland Community College. Sarah is continuing her pursuit of a bachelor, and eventual master degree, in Social Work with a concentration in Gerontology from Oakland University. Sarah has always been passionate about helping people. She is an outstanding young lady. During her sophomore year in college she began interning at Crossroads for Youth. As a part of one of her classes at OCC she developed an idea for a program that focused on empowerment for young ladies. The program focused on increasing self esteem, leadership skills, vision and goal setting, self worth, communication, and positive decision making skills. She had the opportunity to not only create but also implement this awesome program. She has been the Junior High and Varsity coach of our volleyball teams and she is involved in greeting, community services, mentoring and teaching at the Apostolic Church. Sarah is also partnering with Julian Thomas, her fiancé and 2009 graduate of Auburn Hills Christian School, to open a new business, New Heights Assisted Living, LLC, an adult foster care home for individuals who are aged, wheelchair bound or who suffer with Dementia/ Alzheimer's. Julian also serves as our Athletic Director and Varsity Basketball Coach. Julian and Sarah spend many hours volunteering their time to give back to AHCS in any way that they can.
Jonathan Mann is a 2001 graduate of Auburn Hills Christian School (Greater Life Academy). Jonathan has a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree from Oakland University, where he received the MaTilDa Award for Outstanding Performance in Jazz. Jonathan also has a Master of Music in Theory/Compostion from Wayne State University. In 2009 Jonathan joined the Adjunt Faculty at Macomb Community College, where he teaches Music Appreciation, Intro to the Arts and Rock Music History. He worked at Oakland University in the Advising Center for several years. In 2014 Jonathan also became a certified yoga instructor. He teaches yoga to corporate wellness groups, handicapped/special needs clients, middle school kids, senior citizens in assisted living centers and other various yoga studios as well as community and charity events around southeast Michigan.
Stephen Naughton graduated from Auburn Hills Christian School in 2007. He attended Walsh College and pursued a degree in Finance and Marketing. Out of all of the graduates in his class, Stephen was asked to speak at his Commencement Ceremony at Walsh. Stephen is now the Campaign Architect at Marketing Impact, Inc. Stephen was nominated and honored as the youngest recipient of the Oakland County's Executive's Elite 40 under 40 at age 24. Stephen is also a member of our school board and helps us with ideas for marketing and advertising. Stephen is also actively involved in his church and serves as a teacher and coordinator for community service and young adult events. Stephen lives in Clarkston with his wife, also a 2007 AHCS graduate, Tiffany Naughton.
Allison Robertson graduated from Auburn Hills Christian School (Greater Life Academy) in 2002. She has a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Madonna University. Allison taught gym, Bible and coached at AHCS while she was pursuing her degree. She worked as a Mental Health Therapist at Easter Seals until she moved to Ohio. Allison and her husband are the Student Pastors at the Apostolic Church of Barberton. Currently she is a School Psychologist. Allison and Garrett have three children, Titus, Eli and Finley.
Michael Zhong is a 2015 graduate of Auburn Hills Christian School. He is currently attending University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. Michael is nearing graduation. He has been involved in many different groups and activities while thriving academically. During his 7 years at Auburn Hills Christian School, Michael was involved in Band, Baseball, Basketball, Drama Club, Student Council and anything else that he could find to do. He graduated with a 4.0 GPA and received a 33 on his ACT.
