Awesome Students
We are very proud of our 7th grade student Jaden Burnette. Jaden has always had a heart to help others and she recently began a campaign to help hurricane victims. I learned about this latest campaign when an AHCS alumnus emailed to tell me how proud they were to hear one of our students talking on the radio about what they were doing to help others.  Jaden's projects are called Jaden's Loving Arms. Jaden we are so proud of your efforts to reach out to help others!

September Character Trait and Scripture
Character Trait - Respect

I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called.
With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love
Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling:
One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Ephesians 4:1-6 (KJV)

ELC and Elementary students will learn the same scripture in the New Living Translation, shown below.
Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God.  Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other's faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.  For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all, in all, and living through all.

Fundraising Commitment
There is a Fundraising Commitment that each family is billed for the school year.  This is not due until May.  We will provide opportunities throughout the school year for families to raise money towards this commitment.  Each family will receive credit towards the commitment for whatever the profit is on each fundraiser.

We have an ongoing program through Shop With Scrip.  This program allows you to go online and purchase gift cards from over 250 different stores, restaurants and other retailers.  Many families pay for the entire commitment by using this program.  Some gift cards can even be reloaded online making it very easy for you to continue using the program without waiting for gift cards to come in.  It doesn't cost any extra for you but AHCS earns money.  Click on the link above and the enrollment code is 31LE91C4468L6.

This month we are also running a catalog fundraiser with Midland Fundraising. Catalogs will go home tomorrow with students and they will be available in the office.  This sale ends September 29th. You can also send information via email or Facebook to friends and family by going to the following link
www.midlandfundraising.com and registering for a Seller ID using our School ID of D0200317.  In order to receive credit from online sales you must first go online to this website and set up a Seller ID.  Once this is completed you can send emails and post to social media directly from this site.

ROAR Athletic Booster Club
Our Athletic Department is run by our Athletic Booster Club - ROAR.  At this time they are raising money for a new volleyball net system, along with some other equipment needs for the upcoming year.  The first fundraiser that they will do this year is the Yankee Candle fundraiser.  This packet went home with athletes last Thursday. Everything is due by October 6th and checks should be made payable to ROAR Athletic Booster Club. There is also an online website that you can send out to family and friends - www.familyFR.com along with the Group #999969148.  Anyone can help sell these items for the Athletic Department, however, this fundraiser does not go towards the annual Fundraising Commitment per family.  Last year ROAR was able to raise money for new equipment and uniforms as well as contributing towards getting the bus wrapped with our school logo and information!
Robotics
Robotics Club for ages 12 - 18 will begin this Wednesday, September 20th from 3pm - 5pm. Click here for more information!
