Auburn Hills Christian School has another blessed opportunity to help support Bishop John Wayabire in Uganda, East Africa. The Lord led Bishop John to our church and to our school in January, 2007. Bishop John has an anointed ministry in Uganda and the surrounding countries in East Africa in which thousands are being reached with this powerful Gospel Truth.
Uganda is a country that has been ravaged by civil wars, by terrorists, and by HIV/AIDS due to the actions of these terrorists. Because of these factors, Uganda is a country with more than 2,000,000 orphans. Presently these terrorists look for helpless orphans to kidnap and to train to be terrorists fueling the rebellion against the government of Uganda. An integral part of Bishop John’s vision is to find these orphans first and to place them in a loving Christian environment. He presently has over 9,000 orphans who are being raised in a loving environment in orphanages and being taught in Christian schools just like ours throughout Uganda and the surrounding countries. Some of these same orphans have grown up and are now preaching this great Apostolic Truth throughout East Africa.
It is our blessing to teach our students here at Auburn Hills Christian School about the needs and conditions of those less fortunate than us in a country that is far different than ours. Uganda is a country that ranks one of the poorest in the world. Uganda has no government programs to help support these orphans or ministries such as Bishop John’s. Just one American dollar can feed 12 orphans for one day.
The vision of the 2 – 5 Club is to send steady support to Bishop John and his children. If some of our students could commit to just $2.00 a month or to just $5.00 a month, we can make such a huge difference in the lives of hundreds of children in Uganda. Every dollar donated goes directly to Bishop John who directs the money to help meet the nutritional and medicinal needs of his children. We will be collecting the 2 – 5 Club money at the first chapel service of each month beginning in October. This is only an optional opportunity for any students or parents who wish to donate to the 2 – 5 Club. For more information about Bishop John Wayabire and his ministry go to www.myspace.com/ugandaministries.
Also, we will be selling ice cream every day at lunch time for $1.00. Since this ice cream has all been donated, every penny of the ice cream sale money goes directly to Uganda. Thank you for all of your help and participation.
